Elitfönster + Gimic

The Challenge

In Elitfönster's production, window frames need to be inspected for issues such as knots, marks, and scratches. The defects must be identified and addressed directly on the production line, for example, through filling.

To streamline the process, Elitfönster needed a solution that could both perform a complete quality control at high production speeds and provide clear information on where on the product an action is required.

The Solution

Gimic has developed a solution specifically for Elitfönster's production flow. Four cameras inspect the different sides of the product simultaneously as the parts pass on a conveyor belt at high speed.

The AI models identify relevant defects, and the result is presented in a custom-built visualization with 3D views showing where on the product the defect is located.

This makes the information immediately usable in the next step. Instead of searching for the area that needs attention, the operator can more quickly locate, for example, a knot or scratch and perform a more precise filling.
